Business Process Transformation

We help clients understand and transform the network of processes that make up their organization and build a single, integrated view � the Enterprise Operating Model - that is shared by and understood throughout the organization. This view becomes the foundation for performance measurement, resource optimization, operational efficiency, and ultimately attainment of desired strategic results. We collaborate with our clients to explicitly link the enterprise operating model to their strategic and business objectives; identify needed changes to the model, or to individual processes; and provide executives and managers with solutions that alter and optimize their process models, performance measures, and resource allocations to achieve their goals. Our process expertise spans back-office administrative processes, supply chain and logistics processes, customer facing processes, and core mission processes to include R&D, product development, engineering, and C4ISR.

ICOR employs our Accelerated Business Improvement approach to bring fresh perspectives to our clients� operations and business processes. Heavily rooted in Lean Six Sigma, our approach is based on four key principles:

  • Active and Productive Participation by Stakeholders. The productive participation of a critical mass of stakeholders is the basis for change management, our instructional design and training of the new processes as well as training in Lean Six Sigma methods and techniques. This is the foundation of a culture of continuous process improvement.
  • Implement Improvements and New Designs in Sprints Not Marathons. Our campaign approach organizes and executes complex improvements in 60-90-120 day mini-campaigns. To do this, we avoid the traditional "consultants with clipboards and stopwatches" approach by collaborating with process actors in interviews and during key facilitated workshop events.
  • Focus on Completions, Not Starts. We use our campaign events and resultant detailed operational process analysis and design to identify, categorize and implement four types of business process improvements: Leadership Decision Process Improvements, Rapid Action Process Improvements, Expert Study Process Improvements, and Breakthrough Process Improvements.
  • Deploy Best Practices and Powerful Tools. We use powerful analytical, modeling, and simulation tools to measure, analyze, and drive management of business processes.
  • Our Business Process Transformation services include:

  • Business Process Analysis. Conducting comprehensive assessment and analysis of process performance relative to current and projected operational requirements in order to identify and define gaps and provide recommendations for targeting improvement.
  • Business Process Optimization. Collaborating with process owners to identify, analyze, transform, and improve specific processes and operations.
  • Business Process Design. Designing and implementing measurable, highly-optimized processes, enterprise value chains, and integrated operating structures.
  • Business Process Management. Understanding our clients� business processes in order to make certain that any implemented process changes produce the desired sustainable, predictable, and controllable results.
  • Process Transformation PMO. Providing a program structure to support the ongoing implementation, enhancement, and measurement of process transformations.
  • Concept of Operations (ConOps). Creating our Operations Playbookssm to design and convey multi-layered conceptual models of current and future operating environments.
